I am a full-stack developer with a passion for health, wellness and sci-fiction! I offer a unique desire for blending unconventional with practical. My educational background includes Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Digital Media. I am empowered by an evolving thirst for knowledge and I welcome challenges with a growth mindset. I transitioned into web development because I got an idea for a mobile app. I began research on how to make a mobile app and this was the beginning of my coding journey! Each obstacle in my journey tested my resolve and added to the knowledge I’ve gained. I found I am advancing into someone new. I am always willing to learn and open to sharing my stories. I enjoy motivating people and being a part of their personal development. As I advance further in my web development career, I always want to keep the human element of connection in the forefront.
As a means to destress and leverage my bad eating habits I often try to remain active. I am an active member of my CrossFit gym, and during warmer seasons if I’m not running at India Point Park, then I’m biking the many beautiful yet hidden bike paths of Rhode Island. My active life followed me into the workplace where I was quickly recruited to join my company’s wellness initiative! Tasked to encourage and engage a staff of over 200, I sat on a committee that received seed funding from Massachusetts Working on Wellness to support our first year. Named “The Wellness Committee” we established our presence and engaged our staff via Health Fairs, Lunch and Learns, before and after work activities, and company-wide challenges. Our first year was so successful we were asked to present our journey to the State of Massachusetts and became a permanent part of our organization. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and served on the committee for three years.
